........................... green bean soup.....................

2 smoked ham hock shanks ( or a saved ham bone )
1 bag of small new yellow potatoes
ham stock (powdered)
1 large onion chopped
box of fresh sliced mushrooms
fresh green beans or 1 bag of frozen green beans
1/2 lb of bacon cut up

put shanks,bacon, and onion in pot of water and cook down skimming foam off of the top untill there isnt any more foam .. remove shanks and set aside ..add potatoes,mushrooms and cook untill tender add ham stock to taste ...shred meat off of ham hocks and add back to pot .... add green beans and cook until tender .. simmer for about 45 min to an hour ..enjoy .. if you like vinegar add 1 tsp to your bowl to taste ...
