If you don't have the team in place right now, which you don't, you won't have it if you pay Kirk Cousins $27-30 mill a year. I'm not hinting at anything. Basically I'm saying this: If Kirk Cousins throws 5,000 yards, 40 TDs, 10 INTs, but the Redskins are still 8-8 or 9-7, what good is that doing the Redskins? If y'all can't win division titles or NFC titles or even win a damn playoff game, what's the sense in keeping KC around? Look at DeShaun Watson. Rookie QB playing the shit out of the game right now. Look at Carson Wentz. Not a good rookie campaign but he's now led the Eagles to be 6-1. It can happen and it's happening right now with other teams. Question is are you comfortable enough to go through that process, as a fan, to wait 1-2 years for it to pay off. You pay your QB a lot, that leaves you with less money for a good supporting cast.
Again dude, you have pointed out two teams that actually HAD those defenses, running games and to a degree WRs and coaching stability in place. If Cousins is throwing for 5000 yards, 40 TDs and we are STILL lossing
HOW IN THE FUCK IS HE THE PROBLEM???
And again aside from drafting a rookie, what exactly is saving a few million in cap space going to accomplish?? The Giants did the whole free agent bonanza, and they are 1-6 right now.
Sure I agree it CAN happen... but the odds are more likely we turn into the BRowns, constantly chasing the QB position, then magically have a rookie carry the team. We tried that already, and thats what got us to where we are right now.
