They scored a lousy 14 points. The defense played a lot better, but it was the same miserable offense. The Lions shot themselves in the foot with some big mistakes, including the missed short FG. The game should not have been as close. Lions played terrible but they pulled out the win which is all that matters for them.

Remember when Cutler played the Lions a few weeks ago, he put up 14 points early in the game. So I don't want to hear anyone claim the offense vs the Lions with Clausen was better. It was actually worse, but the defense played better.

Yeah, but he also threw an interception that turned an other wise close game into a blowout.

Minimize turnovers, increase your chances of winning.

Bears put up 14 points with Clausen, and were stopped short at the goal line once after a long drive.

The offense had the same amount of output under Clausen, and did so while not turning the ball over.

Almost won? They didn't do anything on that last drive when they could have gone down to get a TD to win the game. They didn't even get to Lions territory, so I don't know where you're getting the idea that they almost won. Almost won would have been if they had an actual drive and gotten close to scoring. It's a sad state of affairs when fans are encouraged by a 20-14 loss at home. The Lions played like bumbling IDIOTS today and would have won by a blowout had they played decently. Go ahead, be encouraged by 14 points all game which were a result of turnovers/muffed punt. The Bears offense seriously was close to scoring 0 points today. Yeah, the lack of turnovers by the Chicago offense sure helped. LMAO!

And the Bears scored one of their TD's vs Detroit under Jay, because of a strip sack inside of the 5 yard line by Allen.

No one is encouraged by 14 points, but there's clearly a reason the Bears stayed in this game today. We're not saying Jimmy Clausen is the answer, no one is. We're pointing out how minimizing turnovers, maximized the Bears chances of winning.

Yes, they could have won… they had a chance to go down and get a TD on their last drive. Like you said. And under Jay, the game was over early on in the 4th quarter. He never even gave them that opportunity.

Also, the Bears only picked up on first down on the final drive, but Clausen did hit Alshon in the freaking hands twice, and hit in him in stride with room to run the final time in Lions territory.

For all the talk of scaling back the offense for Clausen it looked like the same crap they've been doing for two years.

The audible INTO a running play was a nice touch though.

Cutler, Clausen, Farve, Peyton fucking Manning, don't matter. IT's a 14-20 point offensive gameplan.

Sure people can say Detroit isn't a great team, but they've won twice the games the bears have this year with a 1st year head coach. They do have a problem with playing down to the level of their opponents though.
