Like what I'm seeing with the Davis Twins. Just think when Duval has these kids for 4 to 5 years on the front seven on defense and the oline.

Is it just me or does it seem like the WR room has imploded since Lubick was hired? Or what was left of it to begin with anyway...

Maybe they're a bunch of diva's that don't want to block or can't block. Regardless of the type of option you're running the WR's need to block. T.O.'s WR's blocked well.
Regardless of the play call last season, Nebraska was pitiful going sideways. All those sideways passes Nebraska threw last season went for very little. I can only imagine at least a part of that was because the WR's were missing blocks or getting their shit pushed in.

Then again Nebraska rarely stretched the field with them either.

I know what Frost is trying to accomplish and continue to believe in it. Nebraska ran pretty good downhill, but struggled sideways. The O-line appears to be getting more physical. It was a rough start upfront, but they got better rushing the ball as the season went on and finished #30 overall. That was their best stat both offensively and defensively next to passing yards allowed which was misleading because nobody had to throw the ball much against them.
As frustrating as it was, and even though it appeared to be trying to put a square peg in a round hole, they kept working and working the edges. That's because it's going to be a big part of the identity. Frost knew he had job security.
Lubick was a WR coach for years and is more in tune with what Frost wants to do. Execution should improve.

My rose colored glasses tell me that the losing is starting to affect the players. It certainly has affected me.

My expectations are set low for the 2020 season.

I can't imagine them going any worse the 4-2 or 5-1 on first six games of season. Purdue, Central MI, SD State, Cincy all at home, then road game at NW then back home against IL. That is a weak schedule, anything worse than 4-2 and season will be disaster with the remaining six games. I thinking 7-5 or 8-4 at best if they get a few breaks.

Watching them get shoved around affected me, but then I remember where they are in this clusterfuck. Not just physically, but also in depth and experience. I'm still buying Frost's statement that the culture needed to change. I consider that Spielman was a Riley recruit. A lot of his WR's bailed, no?

The way the 1st and 2nd levels played on defense, I'm in the same mindset I was last August.

With a 94th ranked rushing defense, the offense is gonna have to average 40 PPG.

We absolutely need to improve on our "gap assignment" on Defense. You can't have RBs juking your Knees from behind the line of scrimmage. The Minnesota game comes to mind, the entire Defense was lost.

Offensive line needs to build a Two deep rotation and really rotate the personal in fast. This high-octane offense has really sputtered.

Need to get these guys chasing chickens...
