Smiles just couldnt coach. Not holding the team accountable for anything just made a culture of pussies. I would go out on a limb and say by the time scott frost is in year 3 his 2's could whoop MR's year 3 1's asses no problem.

i don't actually think MR was that bad of an X's and O's guy, he completely missed on this highlighted part. and even now, i'm not entirely sure it was 100% him, it seems SE might have hamstrung him some. looking at it retrospectively, he was way too soft on guys during the transition, which is what promoted that culture from the beginning. he was doomed to fail from the very start.

but in a way, i'm thankful for it. mostly because the timing worked perfectly for SF. I also think it was the type of thing that needed to happen. it was a tough position to take over for BP but someone had to do it and going to the opposite extreme i think taught a lot of people a lesson on what really needed to happen with Nebraska football. so hopefully everyone can remember that lesson and we can get back to work.

Ameristar's is up and running. Horseshoe and Harrah's will open on Friday.

Legal sports betting in Bluffs starts today at Ameristar; Crouch, Crawford to appear at Horseshoe event

Thinking about going over tomorrow to check things out before the CFB season opens. I don't gamble much anymore, but did pretty good back in my bar days when I'd put a lot of time into it. Too much stress involved.

I wonder what kind of dent this will put in the local bookies?

I had no idea they were doing this ( dont pay much attention) im not a huge gambler, and i suck at picking sports sometimes ( i let too much want/hope into my picks) When i pick games that i really dont give a shit about i usually do better
