I looked at a few places in Western Iowa. There's some that aren't available due to the floods, plus most of the cabins I have looked at require a 7 day stay at minimum from Memorial Day to Labor Day. All I'm looking for is a place that is a less than 2-3 hours away with a lake and a cabin for the weekend.

If you were willing to drive 5.5 hours I'd recommend this place in NE South Dakota. Great walleye and northern fishing. They have condos or individual cabins. I know Jan personally. Very nice lady.

wow just realize how nice i have it when my bro lets me use his cabin on a lake. I was thinking i'd rent something like this for me and the boys to do something fun, but not at $200 a night.

Not Watertown. That's where Terry Redlin's Art Gallery is.

Roy Lake is about an hour and a half north of that.

I owned a trailer up there for a few years before the dude I was leasing the lot from decided to sell the land and we all had to pull out. I sold the trailer to a local farmer up there. The new owner built a few houses on the land which was right next to Roy View Golf Course.
The biggest walleye I've ever caught was out of Roy Lake. 32" 12 lbs in 6 feet of water.

Did not know they had cabins in Watertown. That's just 4 hours from Omaha.
I've stopped into the Redlin Gallery a few times. The Redlin prints don't do the original oils justice.
