Real good stuff from Bane here, the last 8-10 min he talks about the new fish coming up, Tanner Lee specifically he said Husker fans are going to love him, stopped himself just short of throwing TA under the bus lol

listened last night, that was good. great just hearing from a current player on stuff going on in Lincoln.

If Lee's as good as Bane indicated, that's probably helped our D out a lot too since he's probably been leading scout team. also probably doesn't hurt he's throwing to guys like Spielman and some others that will be possible replacements for the Seniors. o-line i think will be even better next year and the year after that.

he didn't say much about younger D guys, but i guess he's going against the O scout team so knows more about them.

Right, about the young D players, he did mention overall Parrella was the best thing to happen to the defense

It is amazing what Harbaugh has done with Michgan in two years. That defense is a well oiled machine.
Michigan and Alabama will be a damn good game.

Coach Trent Bray was nominated as best assistant coach in the nation. On HB it was mentioned that Bray might be getting job offers. And that Riley should fire Banker and promote Bray. To DC. I have to say I like the idea if Banker would just stick with the secondary he's done a great job there. What do you fellers think

Personally, if I were any one of the promising assistants in this program I'd stick around. HCMR is relatively old and I doubt that he'll be here more than another 4-5 years. If the program continues to improve you can almost be assured of a promotion from within to fill the position. The chance at the head coaching/oc/dc job at Nebraska would /should outweigh most other positions they might leave for.

Just my opinion though.

Uh why the hell would we want to fire Banker? He's done a phenomenal job this year.

I wouldn't fire Banker I would move him to secondary coach. Give him a raise and move Bray to DC.

co-DC title? I don't personally know Bray, so not sure what his aspirations are in the coaching industry. but after the Parella hire, i fully trust MR to find a good replacement if he were to leave.

Last year I was on the "Fire Banker" pulpit. He has more than redeemed himself, in my opinion. I'm in his corner after seeing his scheme develop and the players buy in.

If it was me and Coach Riley wanted me to step down from defensive coordinator and maybe take a more prominent role in the secondary I would gladly do it if I'm getting paid and the team is winning and I'm helping doing that I don't give a shit what my title is

Except the DC calls plays. We have no idea if Bray is going to be good at that because he hasn't done it yet. Seems like a bit of an overreaction to demote a guy who has done a great job this year for a guy that we don't know if he will be good or not.

Coach Bray has been coaching for 7 years I think, always linebackers. I think he was a linebacker prior to that.
So you are going to demote a guy with decades experience as a coordinator and put a guy in there with absolutely none, when the guy you have now is doing a great job?
Makes no sense to me.

Seems to me he is doing an excellent job with both.
