It actually does, considering probably 60-75% of the fanbase does not really care who the coach is. It might be tough for us that follow it so closely to realize that. The people who call into radio shows, post on message boards or Twitter, etc. are a minority, and a very vocal one at that.

Don't know that I've ever met a Husker fan that had no opinion about who the coach is/was.

I know people who don't give a shit about football (wouldn't care), but they are not part of the 'fan base'.
