Ben Roethlisberger is doing his part to help the Pittsburgh Steelers get under the salary cap.

The veteran quarterback has agreed to restructure his contract to help the defending AFC champions get under the $120.4 million cap.

Ryan Tollner, Roethlisberger's agent, said the team approached the two-time Super Bowl winner about the deal, but added it would not affect the length or the money involved in the eight-year, $102 million deal the quarterback signed in 2008.

''We've reviewed it and agreed to it,'' Tollner said Monday.

Good to know. Hopefully, the days of reading bad stuff about Ben are over.

there will be members of the press that want to keep it al going though north

You're right...they'll try. But if the new bride keeps him on the straight and narrow, there will be nothing for those leeches to exploit.

I still have to say, I don't want Starks back!!!!

I think that was a good move to get the O-line to remove their heads from their backsides!!! And this kid Marcus Gilbert played next to Pouncey at Florida, so he has to have some talent!!!!

Good thought on Baron Batch, BTW.

How is he as a blocker? Sometimes I miss the days when we used two running backs, who could block for each other, like Bleier and Harris.
