`I know a few folks who have cut the hole in the trunk,,,after the repair you put a plate over the hole take a few self tappers and cover the hole up,,,,,,,,,,

I'm keeping a good thought. Sometimes, when an in-tank fuel pump quits, banging on the tank near the pump will get it going again. My rubber mallet is in the garage at home...guess I could use my sand wedge, if I have to.

Ahhhh, the old 'bang on it until it breaks' mentality! I had a tv I had to do that to. Funny, they never last long after you use the big hammer on them

Just loosen the straps holdi.g the tank, take a hammer and punch and remove the lock ring. Then slide the whole unit out, unplug the old fuel.pump and install the new one. Its really that easy

Take the twisty thing to the strappy things and turn till it falls on you.
then take the hammer and thingamagigger to the round whatchamacallit and pound on it till you smash your thumb.
Yank out the doohickey and replace it win a new doohickey and hope it all goes back together right!

Yeah...changing the pump ain't difficult, it's lowering the tank that's a pain, and they hose you on the labor for that.

I'll probably end up doing the job myself, long as I can find someone to give me a hand with the tank. It takes more than two hands.

Siphon all the gas out first dummy!
