My favorite "wife on the golf course" tale:

About 5 yrs ago, I was playing a course in Arizona. It was mid-summer, mid-afternoon and HOT, so it wasn't crowded. Was playing alone and taking my time, when this Japanese man started pushing me. The guy was a long ball hitter, and he was playing alone too, but his wife was riding in the cart with him. She looked very prim and proper, hands folded in her lap, saying nothing. I was able to see all this because, whenever I was on a tee, the guy would be on or approaching the green I'd just left.

On the #7 tee, I decided to wait and let him play through...a long ball hitter I am not. Anyway, the guy had crushed his approach shot, landing maybe ten feet to the right of the green, but when he went to chip it on, he shanked it, and the ball went 90 degrees in the wrong direction.

That's when the prim and proper wife hollered, with an accent as thick as tofu,

"Honey, YOU SUCK ! ! ! ! ! !" (pronounced almost like "sock").
