But on the other hand, I'm too cheap to bust a perfectly good TV. If I wanted a better one, I'd sell the old one.

I the same way north .. and I didnt do that on purpose.. just last week I was going to take a tv to the dump cause gwill and salvation army wouldnt take it and I was having a hard time with taking it to the dump cause it still worked ... the neighbor kid took it .. thank god ..............lol

Yeah, sometimes when I have stuff to get rid of that isn't completely worthless, I'll put it out at the curb on a day with no rain/snow/etc., with a sign that says "free."

If no one takes it, I switch the sign to "for sale," and leave it there 'til after sundown, secure in the knowledge that someone will steal it before dawn.

That's just how some people are. They won't take things that they think of as "castoffs" or "charity," but they'll fucking steal the same things.

Hey guys, here's a tech question for yinz:

I've been trying to clean up the computer in the other office. It's running out of disk space. I've dumped a ton of old docs, and even uninstalled some programs I don't use, and I've hardly made a dent.

One thing I've noticed is a LOT of microsoft security updates that have been installed over the years, but I have CA Security. Can I dump these updates safely?

just do a wipe,,,,,,,,,,,,,,reset it back to factory setting,,,,,,even this old dell I am using has a program built in that will allow you to do this
