Mike Cameron. Pete Incaviglia or Pat Burrell?
Nixon. Dave Winfield or Willie Stargell?Incaviglia... I think...
Deion Sanders or Otis Nixon?
I feel like this one is a trick question, but I am going to go with my gut and say Stargell... and I now think I was wrong, re: Incaviglia v BurrellNixon. Dave Winfield or Willie Stargell?
Morris. I think I was right on Nixon/Sanders but it's very close. Johan Santana or CC Sabathia?I feel like this one is a trick question, but I am going to go with my gut and say Stargell... and I now think I was wrong, re: Incaviglia v Burrell
Jamie Moyer or Jack Morris?
I think Moyer over Morris.Morris. I think I was right on Nixon/Sanders but it's very close. Johan Santana or CC Sabathia?
Martinez. Tris Speaker or Ken Griffey Jr.?I think Moyer over Morris.
I'll go Santana.
Edgar Martinez or David Ortiz?
I looked a Speaker's numbers a few months back in the best at each position of all time thread... they were pretty sick, so I'll say Speaker.Martinez. Tris Speaker or Ken Griffey Jr.?
That's ridiculously close. Off the top of my head, Frank Robinson, but it could go either way.I looked a Speaker's numbers a few months back in the best at each position of all time thread... they were pretty sick, so I'll say Speaker.
Frank Thomas or Frank Robinson?
That's ridiculously close. Off the top of my head, Frank Robinson, but it could go either way.
I think Morris is better than Moyer. Better ERA and FIP and a higher WAR despite pitching ~300 less innings.
Dick Allen or Tony Perez?
Yeah, I was right, Robinson is better
I think he's overrated. A guy who had some good seasons (1998, 2002, 2003), some bad seasons (1987, 1995, 2000, 2009) and a lot of average seasons the other times. I mean honestly, his JAWS (his career WAR averaged with his best 7 year peak WAR) is right in line with the likes of Carlos Zambrano and Javier Vasquez's. He's a really good player, don't get me wrong, but I find him often overrated because of his longevityDon't know enough on Dick Allen or Perez, but Baseball Reference has at 50.2 WAR and Jack Morris at 43.8.
EDIT: I guess that fangraphs does have it the other way around- Morris 55.8 and Moyer 48.2
I think that Moyer is under appreciated.
