The NHL is a fucking joke. This league has zero integrity. NBA 2.0.

Looking at Richards directing him to move behind the net. His arm goes down and then the goal is scored about 3 seconds later. How should he be liable for where Kipper is positioned if he's not even facing him? His arm was in the air for no more than a quick second. Its not like he was standing there obviously waving his arms obnoxiously.

Richards had the puck on his forehand and was drifting towards the slot. Why the hell would Pronger direct him away from a prime shooting lane so he can go to a non-threatening position on his backhand?

It's so nice cheering for the team that gets all the calls. I don't know how you guys do it.

Based on the title of the thread, I thought this was going to be about Pronger's actions... not the refs making the correct call... it was unsportsmanlike conduct... and it needed to be called.

Until the Richards OT winner that wasn't, the Flyers were getting every call.

And it was quite nice.

All right don't be completely naive. It was pretty obvious Pronger was putting his arm in front of Kipper's mask...That was his job, he knew what he was doing.

That said, the rule clearly states it is illegal when "FACING" an opponent's goalie. Pronger was never ever facing him. This was not a Sean Avery situation. The ref made a horrible call AND only made it because a goal occurred.

Bad call, they stole a point from the Flyers. There's no denying that.

Are you Pronger? Did you talk to Pronger? Would you of rather Pronger screamed across the ice SHOOT THE PUCK TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE NET THATS WHERE I I'LL GO FOR THE TIP.

Thats what I do when i'm in front of the net I just tell everyone where I want the puck so that the defense will know.

Why not just leave his arm up there all day then, why move it there for a second then put it back on his stick?

Why am I even having this debate, it was a stupid fucking call, period.

And the hack at the back of the knees?

Stuff like that happens in every game.. what doesn't happen is a player putting his hands in front of the goalie's face...

Am I to believe if it were the other way around, and some player put their hand in front of BOB's mask, you would be ok with it? Of course not... that crap doesn't belong in the NHL and needs to be called.

You're the one saying Pronger was telling Richards where to go, but thanks for completely debunking your faulty assertion.

lol I love how you kids act like Pronger sat there waving his arms infront of the goalies face, watch the video, arm was up for a brief second and then back down on his stick. Lifting your arm is not unsportsmanlike, its not any different then if someone were to have skated across the crease impairing the goalies vision. If you dont want the goalie to be visually impaired then it shouldve been unsportsmanlike every time that fat shit Byfuglien was screening in front of the net because on body mass alone he was blocking the goalies vision.

For Pronger to be called for unsportsmanlike his arm should have to be waving around following Kippers head, he should have the ability to telepathically inform whoever is shooting the puck to shoot it where his arm is in the air, and Pronger would have to have eyes in the back of the head so he would know exactly where he isnt allowed to lift his arm.

Nobody knows for a fact what Prongers intentions were, and since he wasnt facing the goalie, its just a guessing game.

Three things here:

First: Of course I wouldnt like it. If someone is putting their hands in my goalies face, then my defender better damn well be all over him and get him away from the crease. If the goalie wants to hack him, fine. NEITHER should be called.

Second: The rule clearly states the sean avery rule is when a player is FACING the goalie. Pronger never turned to face him. No penalty.

Last but most important: NOTHING was called when it happened. A penalty was called 5-7 seconds later when a goal was scored. Again, the goal was not a direct result of the motion. The refs arm never even went up until the ref felt responsible for the goal being scored. BAD BAD CALL

I would be if he was facing the blue line. I didn't see the game but if a player is facing away from the goalie it doesn't matter wether his dick is in Kippers face, it's not a penalty.

Where to go with the puck, so he could tip the shot. Since you're Pronger I guess you can just give me all the facts, because you obviously know everything. So tell me Pronger, what exactly was your intentions on the play?

Thanks for being Pronger.

Apparently, I missed a heck of a finish...Sounds like the Flames should take the two points and sneak out of Philly, though.

So be it... Flyer fans see it one way, the rest of the fans see it another... yes it was a tough call, but I'm happy it was made... again, there is no need for those types of antics in the NHL. Period, end of story on my part.

So played should not be allowed to move in front of the net anymore? Then why even let them stand there? Obviously they are there to get in the goalies way, so whats the point? If this happened to Crosby in front of the net youd have little black and gold tears running down your face for weeks. Lifting your arm up in the air for a brief moment isnt blatant enough to be called on the Avery rule in which he sat there facing the goalie waving his arms obnoxiously.
