Random thought, why isn't India a soccer powerhouse? A billion people so massive talent pool, former British colony so they should have picked the game up. Seems odd they're completely invisible on the world stage.
Made a game of it though. Wow.Tottenham off to a great start again.
Quite the turnaround for Man City...
Fuck them
no kidding. and cheating.... lots of cheating which they all do of courseAmazing what some oil money can do.
my old boss came close to buying a team from that same league Wrexham was in. We didnt know the name of the team but I think it was actually Wrexham. We were actually pretty damn excited for that but then he just decided not to move forward with it. Such a shame. I would not put it past Ryan to get that team there. He has limitless ambitionI recently read (or heard) that the goal for Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham is to have them in the Premiership within 10 years. That sounds like some lofty ambitions to me, but it will be interesting to watch their progress.
ESPN etc. have given Wrexham more exposure on their network than they did the Champions League or EPL when they had those rights.
If Wrexham wind up climbing the ladder that fast it'll be the result of increased revenues and/or investment brought on solely by their association with celebrities. I find that no better than the oil assholes doing the same with more established prem clubs. It also hurts similar smaller clubs that might have a chance at promotion hindered by Wrexham, or find themselves in more and more abnormally hostile atmospheres simply because their opponents are gaining fans thanks not to players but ownership.
Reynolds is also an "environmental activist" who flies private to Wrexham when he needs to and will probably add Ottawa to that list if that one goes through but will keep telling us to stahhhp with all the carbon!
Do people ever tire of being wowed by celebrity?

I don't know if it's being wowed by celebrity or just a feel good story at a time when the world could use more of these types of stories. Wrexham still has a long way to climb to even get close to the Premiership. It's why the FA Cup still has the appeal it does, although it usually ends up being two Premiership teams vying for the title, it's always cool (at least to me) to see a lower division team send a Premier League team out of the FA Cup.
For the people of Wrexham who have supported the team through thick and thin, it has to be a fun ride at the moment.
you leave Tottenham out of this
