Yeah, previously he was a player/manager for DC United in MLS. It's another case of great player/terrible manager along the lines of another guy named Wayne in the NHL.

Quality manager in his day, was probably unlucky to not have won anything during his England tenure considering the team they had. Had a truly underrated club career, making a European Cup final with Benfica and winning the Scudetto with Lazio along with a Uefa Cup.

If it’s the end, he had a pretty good ride. Hope he doesn’t suffer much.

Yes, I know it's in the Championship, but still pretty cool breaking a 103 year old club record.

Southampton broke a 103-year-old club record by going 21 games unbeaten as Russell Martin celebrated his return to Swansea with a 3-1 success.

Currently joint 2nd place with Ipswich Town who face Leicester on Monday. A win by the Foxes would put Saints in 2nd place by goal differential.
