I did like the use of The Wall song in the preview. Looks like a horror take on a comic book property. I will probably check it out at some point when it's released.

Further indications of New Mutants being an awful film and of the death of the XMCU as Disney acquires Fox:

New Mutants was filmed in 2017, two years ago, and originally slated for release on April 13, 2018.

Then it got delayed almost a full year, to February 22, 2019, for reshoots.

Then it got delayed another half year to August 2, 2019.

And now, it is being reported that this movie will be delayed further to October or November 2019.

Fox is considering cancelling the theatrical release entirely and just streaming it via Hulu.

Sad... such an intriguing concept, too bad they couldn’t pull it off.

With the state of the DCEU a year ago, I was pulling for the mutants to provide an alternative to Marvel, but they seem to have dropped the ball.

More bad news for this movie: in a interview (mainly focused on Game of Thrones) in Rolling Stone, Maisie Williams is now saying the reshoots for The New Mutants weren't even done:

"Who knows when the fuck that's gonna come out," she says. There were supposed to be reshoots to "make it scarier," she explains, but they haven't actually taken place. She says she saw one of her co-stars, Charlie Heaton, the other day and asked him, "What the fuck is going on with this movie?" He didn't know either.

Probably just going to get scrapped entirely now with the takeover and the studio and the collapse of the franchise.

Man this has me irked to nth degree. New Mutants was my favorite comic as a kid and it's movie having a horror element only made me anticipate the movie even more. This is just a fine how do you doody.

I'm curious how this is still considered a FOX movie given that Disney owns everything Marvel and FOX related now.

I would've said FOX was just spinning it off with no correlation to their previously owned movies but the word "mutant" is now a Disney owned word so that can't be it.

New Mutants is not set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, instead being the final movie to be set in the Fox X-Men universe, and was filmed before Disney bought Fox.

FOX still exists as a studio, it's just owned by Disney....similar to how StarWars movies are made by Lucasfilm and the MCU is made by Marvel Studios.
