Special thanks tho for letting darren mattocks score on you guys. Maybe whitecaps can suck a euro team into paying an actual transfer fee with actual dollars for him

American media seem to be slyly using the excuse that Jurgen used 2 young defenders and experimented and yadda yadda yadda...

Can they just jump off Klinsmann's dick already? One of those "young defenders" is a regular starter for a Bundesliga club. The Netherlands got to the World Cup semifinals playing a back 5 that included 22 year old Martins-Indi, 22 year old Stefan De Vrij and 24 year old Daley Blind and allowed 1 goal the entire knockout round. The US can't stop Jamaica from giving them headaches and they somehow have people believing there's been significant progress made.

The reality is Klinsmann has about as much a chance of turning the US into a soccer "power" as Bradley did before him, which is none. The talent simply isn't there, the highly-skilled players needed to be successful at the int'l level are at best still sperm swimming in their fathers' sacks and at worst still multiple generations away. Klinsmann has built an entire coaching career off of one great tournament where he was given the first crack at an incredible group of talent that would go on to become some of the best players in the game (Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Podolski, Mertesacker) and had the benefit of home field. He was the worst Bayern manager this century by a large margin. He got plaudits for the US getting to the round of 16 in the World Cup despite the fact his GK is the only reason they weren't blown out every damn game. Besides getting some German-born guys to declare for the US what has he done?

Transfer time:

Juve's Arturo Vidal Joining Bayern Munich

No matter how Juve tries to spin this, this is a massive loss. They are banking big on Sturaro and Khedira, and that is a lot considering Sturaro is still a kid (although a highly promising one) and who knows what Khedira has left. They would do well to find another midfielder before it's all said and done.

Julian Draxler is a fantastic player. The rumour is that Schalke want 20-30 million EUR. Given the modern transfer climate, that seems very low.

He can be both fantastic and infuriating. Just as good a chance this works out as there is of him being Mario 2.0.

Also, Chelsea may pay 45 million euros for a 21 year old defender. Meh, why not.

Croatia deducted one point from Euro 2016 qualifiers over swastika image | Football | The Guardian

That's a pretty big hit - can you imagine the money the federation is losing by playing 3 home games behind closed doors? The lost point is whatever - probably should be more but it wouldn't have been more than 3 pts and they'd still be almost guaranteed qualification - but three games behind closed doors is a big hit. Gonna feel that when it comes time to negotiate bonuses with their players.

Much rougher second go of it for Sterling and City - lose 4-1 to Real (only goal a penalty) and Delph went off hurt.

If Canada gets past Belize they'll end up in a group with Mexico and Honduras, which is to say they will not be going to Russia in 2018.

Hey, the Whitecaps won a home game...

/I'm hearing San Jose is protesting the game due to shadows on the field and fake grass :D

Actually saw two MLS games this wknd (Tor-Cls and NYC-Orl) and was fairly entertained. Well done, fifth divisioners with aging stars sprinkled. Well done.

Also, for the umpteenth time Giovinco is way too good to be playing in MLS.
