Toronto FC announced on Thursday it is suspending all recognized supporter group privileges indefinitely as a 'thorough review' of its recognized supporter program is conducted after a fire delayed Wednesday night's Canadian Championship semifinal matchup between Toronto FC and the host Fury at TD Place Stadium.

"The safety of our fans, employees and supporters is the highest priority for TFC," the team said in a statement. "The events which took place in Ottawa last night involving TFC supporters were unacceptable and needlessly put the safety of others at risk.

"Due to the seriousness of this incident we are left with no choice but to suspend all recognized supporter group privileges indefinitely as we conduct a thorough review of TFC’s recognized supporter program. We are fully cooperating with the Ottawa Police Department as they investigate this incident and work to identify those responsible."

The soccer game was delayed briefly late in the second half when TFC supporters set off flares and smoke bombs that led to fires in the stands that eventually made their way onto the pitch before being extinguished by security.

Multiple league sources tell The Athletic that the Vancouver Whitecaps are “close” to a deal that would send Davies to Bayern Munich. The deal, one source said, includes a base fee around $12 million (U.S. dollars) and could rise from there with add-ons and clauses contingent on performance.

Set to turn 18 years old in November, Davies has already been capped six times by Canada’s national team. Sources say that multiple Premier League clubs have expressed interest in Davies, but the player might have difficulty getting a work permit to play in England. They only seem to bring in players who are represented by the agency that robbos brother works for.

I dont see them changing their philosophy. They wont bring in an older “name” player like a rooney. Will they spend more on mid 20’s south americans? (Like the sounders just did with the peruvian ruidiaz?). Maybe, i still think the turf is a hard sell

In the end, I think theyll pocket the money and say they are pumping it into the residency program and use davies development out of residency as the rationale for that. But lets be straight here, the residency program hasnt produced much else and davies was such an uber talent he got to where he is in spite of it.

They need to do something though. They wont score without davies here. lol
