Seems like there was a lot of stuff flying around the stands at the Olympic Stadium in London. Chelsea fans needed a police escort to the tube station afterward.

Probably a dumb question, but do they still serve beverages in bottles? I'm sure supporters likely try to sneak in stuff from home in bottles as well.

I believe only plastic cups of ale are sold in the concourse but no alcohol is permitted in the seating area.

It wasn't mostly ripped-up seating flying around in this melee.

Lot of police and stadium architects commenting this morning that even with the almost total re-design post-Olympics the stadium just isn't designed to separate opposing fans.

Good thing the stadium doesn't host a club with a long history of violent fans.
