Funny thing, I went to Iceland earlier this year and on the plane they had a magazine that featured "50 cool things about Iceland" and one of them was "Iceland's men's national team came within 1 win of qualifying for the world cup". So their sports highlight was almost making a tournament.

Incredible. There's only about 320K people and 220K of them live in the capital. Capital is tiny, countless bars, cool architecture and scenery. Once you get outside of the city though it's like being on another planet. Check out the Golden Circle, the Blue Lagoon, maybe head out to the glaciers. The food is pricey and not all that great but they're in the middle of nowhere so it's understandable. Highly recommend it.
