Other than Hope Solo being a thug, why is the team unlikable? Complaining about playing on turf, which FIFA would never in a million years make the men do at a World Cup? I cover women's soccer, and I'm pretty sure the hard surface hasn't helped our concussion numbers. And ask any soccer player, man, woman, high school to pros, what they'd rather.

What kind of turf are you talking about? The modern kind gives like grass/dirt but the ball rolls even. I'd prefer that frankly though I've only gotten to play on it a few times. Hard natural grass/dirt fields ruined my ankles growing up.

From an injury perspective, it is moot for the most part. Just different injuries. Plant and twist stuff (ACL) is more common on turf because it doesn't give, rolling an ankle is more common on grass because of divets.

For the us women to make it into some human rights / discrimination violation complaint is pure bullshit. Im waiting for the sounders and the timbers of mls to go on hunger strikes for being forced to play on turf all year round

More than a few people have said that the end game or motive for these turf complaints is for US Soccer to get the tournament pulled from canada and played in the US
