Ummmm, wrong. The issue here is whether drafting OGs in 2001 can be used as a basis for drafting today. It can't as a whole lots changed since then. Don't argue that losing proposition.

We moved on from that issue a while ago. My question to you afterwards was when the last OG was drafted in the top five. You responded 2001, hence the current issue we're on.

Read the threads again, dad. I had noted that I failed to define my terms. For that, I was wrong. We then pivoted to the 2001 issue. The point I'm trying to make with that is the fact that using 2001 in this debate is ancient history. Different issue, different point.

Just face it Dad... no one in the History of the NFL has ever taken a Guard that high, and NO one on the planet thinks Scherff can be anything more than a Guard... these are facts... well sort of.

That's never been the issue. The issue has been whether or not taking a guard with the fifth overall pick represents sufficient value for such a high pick. I myself believe Scherff will be a great guard and that he'd fill a need on our team. However, picking him at five would simply be too high.

Yep, we've got a need for a speed rusher, so let's the more practical model rather than the speed demon we need. Got it.

I think everyone is arguing just to argue. We have a new o line coach and new defensive coordinator. They get the most out of their o lineman/linebackers. Scot will pick his bpa, cus that's what Scot does. The pick will be put in a good situation with good coaches.
