Are you saying Jim Harbaugh needs an advantage?
According to some 'logic' Harbaugh is useless too. No National Titles, Big 10 division or conference titles, and no playoff wins inside (or outside the Big 10). Am I doing it right?

I dont think anyone ever said he was "useless". What has been said is in direct argument to Harbs being considered a top 5 coach. Yes those things you listed should count against a coach if he does not have them and is consideration as a top coach.

Big Ten was tougher when Saban was the HC at Michigan State, tbh. No divisions and had at least 4 teams finish in the Top 25 every year during Saban's tenure at MSU. Had 5 teams finish in the Top 25 in 1995, 1996 and 1998. Had SEVEN teams finish in the Top 25 in 1999. Had 4 in 1997.

Saban also went 9-2 (left before the bowl game) in his fifth and final season at Michigan State.
Dantonio turned things around in his fourth season at MSU, going 11-2 in 2010.

don't think it is fair to say that Dantonio is doing something at MSU that Saban couldn't do.

I think Harbaugh did just fine in the NFL. If you need a refresher, let me know. I will post a link so you can check out how he did and make your own judgement.

Lots have visited AA they just dont stay like Phelps. He followed his coach and when coach left so did Phelps. That was a good attempted purchase of an athlete. MI sure has gotten better at that over the years.
He also attended the University and coached here....you seem to be forgetting that.

Like that Michigan math, they own MSU yet lost 7 of the past 8. :kermit:
That's what happens when you have 50 years of domination. It doesn't get erased in 7 years.

He followed a coach he had for years. If that coach went to Boise, Phelps would have went there. Then would we have a Boise Man?

If Urban was at Boise, OSU wouldn't have half the players they have and Boise would have them....what's your point? The coach also didn't pull his arm to enroll in the University.

He just followed the coach that he had for year prior. It didnt matter where he went. But I guess you need to hang your hat on something...

Are you guys really arguing over a swimmer? Who cares where he went to school.

If you wanted to argue over a swimmer, argue over Kris Humphrey. If he didn't quit swimming for basketball, he could be the greatest swimmer. He owned Phelps growing up until he quit.

A race when they were 10 years old... Really?

That is true, I did see the time.

And the answer is yes we are arguing about a swimmer. Its not football season yet.

It wasn't one race. Humphrey, according to the article, was the top ranked swimmer in the country and held national records in multiple disciplines. Some of the records stood for almost 20 years.

That being said -- I was joking, as it is swimming. Just thought the Kris Humphrey article from yesterday was humorous.

I'm sure no one needs a refresher as it's one of the 3 useless stats you regurgitate day in and day out. You really need to get some new material. It really makes you seem even dumber than what you actually are, which is almost an impossible thing to accomplish.

I know you get owned in the NFL forums as well, but this is a college football forum. His NFL resume doesn't mean one thing in college. (Which is ironically the same resume he has in both sports being 0 championships of significance.)

I think it's funny when he brings up JH's NFL playing career. He had a below .500 record as a starter (66-74) & had almost as many int's (117) as td's (129).

You live dangerously, like Austin Powers. It's only a matter of time before 1 of those maze 'n blew fans reminds you that Saban also left the NFL for CFB. That was a very ballsy move on Saban's part.
