If Harper is doing this at 22, imagine how good he could be in 2 years when he is Trouts age.

 I just hit Stats instead of Standings. Harper is leading all of the Majors in average, Runs, OBP, Slugging, and OPS.

But not the right choice for MVP, according to one poster on this fourm.

As crazy as that is, I'm with you.

I don't think that's crazy. They're both ridiculously talented and Trout has a longer track record of success.

Until a month or so ago, I don't see how a reasonable person would have picked Harper. I'd still probably take Trout, but Harper's really starting to show some amazing ability.

It's not like Trout is suddenly a bum. He probably won't win out over Donaldson, but he's still a legit MVP candidate. Again.

Just like he has been for every season of his career.

It's not like Trout's having a down year either. A 174 OPS+ (AL leading; 2nd best of his career behind only 2013) is far from shabby, and that's with Trout's rough August.

Yep. The only reason why Donaldson is getting the edge in fWAR is defensive metrics. Trout is the most productive hitter in the AL. Again.

Unanimous MVP for BH. A season for the ages.

Despite the fact he is on a rival team, I can put aside my hatred...I love the way this kid plays the game.
