The Matrix 4: Resurrections (2021)

You heard of revenge pornn? ....this was a revenge sequel.

The writers and director were galactically resentful in having to make this film and they wanted payback.
That is the only explanation I can come up with ...there is no way anyone could make a movie this bad by accident.

You can only watch this movie for about 15 minutes at a time before you don't feel well (think covid but worse)

Every 15 minutes I had to switch over and watch Hawkeye for 30 minutes just to feel better.

I'm not sure any of us should watch the entire movie ..God knows what long haul effects it may have.

Great is a measurement of how well a film stands up over time. Many films that were considered great in the 70s or 80s seem really dated today.

I think that Arrival was a great film.

I think If Beale Street Could Talk was a great film

I think Hell or High Water was a great film.

I thought the first Wonder Woman movie was enjoyable. I thought the ending was a little hokie which prevented it from being great.

Man this movie is getting trashed and I was looking forward to seeing it. I guess this movie will be nothing more than an airplane watch down the road.

I thought it was kinda a mess.

It WANTED to be a trans-activist movie, but then it wanted to be about how the political-Media complex is brainwashing everyone and how that is what the people want, but then it wants to be an LBTQXYZ- activist movie again, then it wants to be a brutal, ”how many people can we kill in fucked up ways” brainstorm session, then it wants to be about woman’s lib…

So many Alt-messages buried here, there and everywhere.

Granted, maybe it is impossible for me to watch anything from a Wachowski ever again without seeing those messages oozing out of every scene, but they put themselves into that position with their careers to date (I understand this one only involved Lana…). But I couldn’t watch this movie without getting yanked out of it by these tropes getting dropped in all over.

Maybe I will need to watch it again in order to appreciate any story that may be there, but at 2.5 hours, I doubt I will give it the second viewing.

To be fair, the “preaching” here is not totally overt. It is there, it just isn’t as bad as I made it out to be. I am just super sensitive to it with the Wachowskis because they are loud advocates.

Sense8 was a great SciFi idea that was completely overwhelmed by “the message”. They have made it impossible for me to watch any of their stuff without going in on high alert.

No, it's totally overt. They literally made Neo just some guy and made Trininity "The One."

But as a popcorn flick I actually enjoyed it. Don't pay attention to dialog or plot lines, just go in expecting a Micheal Bay Transformer style movie and watch it for the explosions. That said,if had paid to watch it instead of getting it for free with HBOmax I would have been pissed too. Not a good movie but I thought it was an enjoyable one. It even had some funny bits in it.

The only “funny” part, imho, was also a real problem with the movie.

When they said that WB was going to make the “game” regardless, so that is why they decided to be involved,, just to have some say in how the “game” goes, basically told the audience that no one wanted to do this movie and they were just there, essentially, by force.
