Atleast they arent doing an reboot with a woman trying to play the main character and take Keanu Reeves out. I liked the matrix franchise and Keanu still makes good money in his movies so I am excited to see what they will do. The slow motion CGI they did with the first one was ground breaking so I am excited to see what they will do with this one

Having watched the first and second Matrix movie recently, I do think the 2nd Matrix movie would have been absolutely shredded in today's internet climate. That movie is garbage. Its a series going Grade A to Grade F in the span of about 30 minutes of screen time.

I feel like they'd be better off just creating something new.

This COULD be good, but I don’t trust the Wachowski’s anymore. They are activists now instead of movie makers. They have interesting concepts, but infest the actual show/movie with their cause that it is hard to see past it. And this trailer makes me think this will be deep in it.

because of this and the dog shit that was M2 and M3, I will wait for either AMAZING word of mouth on this or until it hits “free” streaming.

Agreed. The first one was fantastic and was completely different than anything I had seen before. The other two other than maybe a sequence here and there, weren’t nearly as good. Right now, pretty much the only reason I’d want to watch is because I like Keanu Reeves.

Yup. Reeves is fun, even if the movies themselves are a bit meh.

Can't lie, that trailer was really interesting. I disliked M2 and especially M3, but still I'll watch this one.

My kid has only seen the first Matrix, I didn't show him the other two, and is really excited for this.

I thought it was kinda a mess.

It WANTED to be a trans-activist movie, but then it wanted to be about how the political-Media complex is brainwashing everyone and how that is what the people want, but then it wants to be an LBTQXYZ- activist movie again, then it wants to be a brutal, ”how many people can we kill in fucked up ways” brainstorm session, then it wants to be about woman’s lib…

So many Alt-messages buried here, there and everywhere.

Granted, maybe it is impossible for me to watch anything from a Wachowski ever again without seeing those messages oozing out of every scene, but they put themselves into that position with their careers to date (I understand this one only involved Lana…). But I couldn’t watch this movie without getting yanked out of it by these tropes getting dropped in all over.

Maybe I will need to watch it again in order to appreciate any story that may be there, but at 2.5 hours, I doubt I will give it the second viewing.

I didn’t see any of the activism as they openly made fun of the younger generation. I thought the movie was actually solid. They pointed out they didn’t want to make the movie yet still pulled it off.

I did catch the big middle finger to WB at the beginning and wondered how much of that was dropping the 4th wall and actually saying they had no desire in making this movie.
