May be Mike McAllister as our back-up in 2024 unless we pick-up Bortolini and/or Cooper Bebe in the draft!

Laumea has played mostly RG and RT, no C. Doesn't mean he couldn't I guess. Beebe hasn't played C yet either?

This is what McShitferBrains does nearly every year. Was it not just a couple of drafts ago (2022 draft) when they took a number of DBacks to provide Secondary help from the 2019 disaster draft? Now here we are two-to-five years later and McShiferBrains' focus is once again primarily on the Secondary.

And ten-to-one, this 2024 draft will be another draft where the ShitferBrains Twins' focus will be on the WRs/TEs and the Secondary mostly ignoring the other areas of the team that need focus like the O-line, the D-line and LBers. We have not selected a really good inside LB since Earnest Jones back in 2021 because of this bias that McShitferbrains has.

I believe the Rams will not select a player outside of the Secondary and the WRs/TEs until possibly the Third Round. The ShitferBrains Twins simply have this overt aversion to selecting and O or D-lineman in the First two Rounds of the draft. This may be the year that they change-up and take Newton or Murphy in the First two Rounds due primarily to the retirement of AD, but it will be not without consternation, for sure.

Yea these rumors are beginning to gain traction. Just don't take him in the First Round. Take Murphy or Newton in the First and Penix in the Second.

I don’t want Penix.

Too many injuries already.

If they take a QB early in the draft, take Nix.

Otherwise, draft Milton late or don’t draft a QB at all.

Precisely ALR!! They don't need to waste an early pic on a QB, (unless they trade-up, which would be stupid) when Milton can be selected in the Third and later Rounds. I think Milton would be the steal of the draft at QB.

Man, Shopson, that mock is really damn good!!

Can get better players when you can pull those later picks earlier lol. Don't know how realistic that is (and I didn't propose any of the trades, just took the ones I thought were appropriate). The positioning in these mocks changes week to week, tough to know what to expect.

However, when players fall into your lap...? I would expect trade down offers in the 1st (and likely the 2nd) in this scenario, but the ones on the site were terrible. So I took value when it presented itself, keeping needs also in mind of course.

19. Quinyon Mitchell, lCB Toledo
52. Michael Penix Jr., QB Washington
83. Marshawn Kneeland, EDGE Western Michigan
99. Maason Smith, DT LSU
154. MarShawn Lloyd, RB USC
155. Kenny Logan Jr., S Kansas
196. Thomas Harper, S Notre Dame
209. Myles Cole, EDGE Texas Tech
213. Charles Turner III, OC LSU
217. Ryan Flournoy, WR SE Missouri State
254. Zach Heins, TE South Dakota State

That Heins kid will probably be there in the 6th and 7th Rounds. He is a decent selection for sure. I liked the previous mock without all of the trades in this mock.

He's been one of "my guys" in this draft, not sure why he's so far down the rankings. The other SDSU players have climbed higher.

This WR is just a few miles up the road at USC and he is Jerry Rice's son. He might be this year's Nacua and we could get him in the 5th, no problem. About the same size as Nacua and a tad faster but he looks alot like Nacua.

Our qb situation is set, I see no reason to take a qb round one let alone day one or two. I see us drafting a qb later in the draft.

Yea, BattleLyon. The absolute best QB the Rams should use a draft pick on is Joe Milton. Period! Third day selection.

The one issue I can see happening in the draft is a team jumping ahead of the Rams to get Murphy knowing the Rams need to replace Donald.

If that happens, they should trade back and target Newton or a CB/OT.

Similar attributes, but he's not a surprise like Nacua was IMO. Different meanings of "this year's Puka" I guess. Rice could be a 3rd or 4th rounder. I'm more curious about the guys that get less publicity and could be available later on day 3, guys like Coker, Cephus, and Flournoy.

It will be interesting to see how much the new kickoff rules changes the draft slot of later rbs and wrs.

I think that's why we've seen talk about the Rams current D linemen as a group to try to diffuse that. Brown could be that NT to work between Turner and Hoecht/DesJuan, that kind of thing. Chasing DT specifically to replace AD will ultimately disappoint IMO, so I wouldn't mind going Edge and LB in the 1st 2 rounds to strengthen the front 7, then addressing DT and developmental OT in the 3rd.

I'm not sure Murphy necessarily goes before Newton (even though that has become the consensus of late), and I prefer Newton for his more unique abilities. It's so tough projecting the Rams' picks. They haven't had a first round pick in so long, but have had success with later value picks. Sounds a lot like the Lakers, who finally got a #1 pick last summer and ended up using it on a project player that didn't bring anything to the team in year 1. I would go trenches in the 1st (best available Edge/DT/OT), but I wouldn't put it past them to trade up for a receiver or even take a QB.

I'm not completely sold on him. Amazing arm strength, but a developmental QB that is already 24 seems a bit wrong to me. So many of this year's prospects are plus aged that it's tough to guess how teams will ultimately rank them.
