I think they should just go with what they have and let the players build their Defense-in-the Paint with DFS, Hachimura, Vanderbilt, Hayes, Kokolo, Jemison, and near the end of a game, Reddish.
Reddish is getting garbage time mpg now that we have DFS.

Koloko and Jamison are not very good IMO.

Emergency subs....only played a lot because we had very little in the way of options. And they cheap.

I wish Dallas would’ve taken Knecht instead of Christie.

I wonder if the Lakers hadn’t inserted Christie into the starting lineup those 2 weeks prior, if Dallas would’ve asked for Knecht instead as he had done more at that point than Christie.

Problem with Knecht is he is just a shooter, and they don’t have room in the lineup for him now. They have plenty of shooters.

They will have room when they flip AR and a contract for a C and some bench help. Might also get a future 1st rounder back for AR.

Christie is a nice role player but being greedy and wishing they took somebody else instead for a guy like Luka? LOL.

We are starting to see a side of LeBron that some weren't aware of.
He can post up high or low and look like he's been a post-up man his whole career.
He can play the 5 and play it well, for limited minutes against certain line-ups,

Lots of guys are going to get easy buckets playing with LBJ & Luka.
Agree with many here that if they lose early in the playoffs, subpar defense will be the reason.

I didn’t say instead of Luka.

Said it would’ve been nice to have another player included instead of Christie because they need a guy like him off the bench.

That's what I said but reading comprehension isn't your thing clearly.

1) how in the world did they lose to the Jazz and Hornets but can beat the Nuggets?

2) I never understood all the trading Hachimura talk the past 2 seasons. The Lakers need him. Did you see his defense on Jolkic tonight? It allowed Hayes to stay out of foul trouble, and with the double teams helping, held Jokic to 2-7 shooting. Plus, he’s been great at 3 pt range the past 2 seasons as well.

1. Focus and all star game weekend interference/distractions

2. He's the most tradeable contract of any usable size with DLo gone. If you're going to make a trade, it isn't going to be AR or Lebron, and nobody else will drive any real interest (other than the recently traded AD, Christie and almost Knecht).

Still think Knecht needs to start eventually as the designated shooter....

And Reaves dealt (along with somebody else) to get a legit C and some bench help.

Not much help coming in FA or the draft.

The only way you can start Knecht is if one of the big 3 is dealt. Starting AR, Luka, Knecht and Lebron would create a defense about as tough as wet newspaper.

My guess would be that Knecht is again a trade chip this summer. If they're going to lean into defense around the big 3, he's not a fit.

I don't think Reddish will make it past March. The Lakers will add either another big or a defensive guard to the mix via his roster spot before the ramp up to the playoffs. As much as they likely need another big (Koloko and Jemison are not post season eligible), they screwed that opportunity with Len IMO.

If they do go guard, Dennis Smith Jr is an option once again. He's played with Luka before (and they were pretty tight) and he recently left Real Madrid looking for a return to the NBA. I wouldn't be surprised if the wheels were already in motion to bring him in. He would bring defense and a slashing ability that they don't have on their bench.

Knecht doesn't make much. Keep him on his rookie deal and package Reaves with either Vandy or Vincent and get a legit C and a few guys for the bench

I don't follow the Lakers but I do follow Tennessee sports and was wondering how Knecht is working out. I thought he would do OK, he was able to score off the dribble in college and had really good court awareness but I was suspect of his defense. What's he been like other than your description? Thanks.
