Doesn't really matter IMO. Unless the Hornets decide to keep him through the deadline to S&T him (or re-sign him) this summer, the price for him is going to be low as a result. Low enough that it's worth the rental trade to a contender if that's all it ends up being. Receiving team could offer him a short term MLE deal this summer to rebuild his value if he wanted to stay with that new team.

I just hope he doesn't go to an already loaded team. He's almost a cheat code at this low of a price.

Charlotte isn't giving him away. They will want a 1st rounder. You don't trade a 1st rounder if the player coming back is just a rental.
