You're in agreement, right? I feel like the Patriots outside of their QB constantly shed players with exception of a few key cogs here and there.

That's where I felt Seattle made a big mistake. They tried to keep EVERYONE (well basically did) from their Super Bowl team. Seattle, you didn't need to lock up like $50M in the secondary...

It's always smart to get rid of a player before their skills start to diminish rather than after their skills have diminished.

The key back in Lombardi's day the teams owned player right forever basically...knowing when to let players go was a lot easier...it was performance oriented more than financial...when you got let back then, you were pretty much done anyway.

BB may have learned from somebody, but he should've been the one to write the book about it for the modern game anyway.

PIT should've started the turnover right after Rodgers torched them in the '10 SB...they hung on to those guys another season and they got exposed by Tebow.

It doesn't always work though...for a long time NE had most of what they needed, but had a long stretech between titles themselves. It didn't work for BAL either...they cleaned house after their SB win and have been struggling to get back to the playoffs since then.
