I agree with GoldenSpur. Bring back rep, with everyone at zero. Re-set it every year or so.

That way, "rep rewards" and "last post" competitions can go on, and we can still have a "prize," as it were, for caption slap. Not to mention having a way to approve or disapprove of comments.
