No, that would be Giordano + 1st for Pearson and Richards.
Tell you what, we'll settle for Gaudreau and a 1st.

Flames talking to Kings about Richards | Home | Calgary Sun
"For a deal to make sense, a team like the Flames would insist the Kings sweeten the deal by adding a player like Tyler Toffoli or Tanner Pearson as part of a swap that would see the Flames send an overpaid player or two to L.A. as part of the deal."
I mean, sure, give me one of the best young scorers in the game and I'll gladly take a shitty contract off your hands. Oh and you have to take Engelland too.
You guys laugh but that type of trade is exactly how Cody Franson became a Leaf at 23, and Lombardi wasn't anywhere near as bad a contract as Richards.
Yes, but Franson wasn't as valuable at 23 as Toffoli is at 22, despite recent hype.

Agreed
People didn't think Cody Franson was that great early in his career - and that's why Nashville had let him go too, because they were deep on defense and didn't think of him highly enough to keep him
It's a way different situation too because Tyler Toffoli is a major piece of the Kings and without him, they are worse off big time
Cody Franson career points per game (as a defenseman) at the time of the trade: 0.355
Tanner Pearson career PPG: 0.343
Toffoli is a little higher than both of course, but one of the three is a defenseman remember.
I don't know that I agree that "vintage Mike Richards" involves any passing to Brian O'Neill.
