The extra point experiment is stupid.

The logic is an absolute fail.

An extra point kicked from the 15 yard line is only worth 1 point.

However, a field goal kicked from the 10 yard line (5 yards closer) is worth 3 points.

Logic fail.

Which pretty much sums up the entire Roger Goodell commissioner regime.

One big logic fail.

Most Extra point units have at least 2 TEs on them. You dont need to change up personnel aside from having a holder that is capable of throwing an accurate pass. I honestly dont see it as that big a deal from a making the extra point standpoint. And again, how many "surprise" two point attempts have we seen over the last three seasons?? Five or six maybe??

I agree with everything you're saying, except the Graham comment. Yes teams have 2-3 tight ends on extra points and field goals, but those are blocking TEs. Gronk or Davis would be better examples of someone that you could roll out and not show your hand that you're looking to pass. But Graham doesn't see the field as a blocker, if he did it would raise eyebrows to see them suggesting that he will on this play.

You sir surely have not been following football. Crosby corrected his bad year he had 2 years ago and was very good last year. He had one off year out of all the years he has been around. And so far this year in camp has missed like 2 kicks of all the ones they do in practice.

If he is indeed a Viking's fan then yes, he has not been following football.

Has there ever been an NFL season where they didn't change the rules?

I mean... technically we're watching a different game every damn year.

It's the Goofdell effect. :gaah:

Lets be honest guys... on about 99% of extra points this is the time where we get up to go grab another beer, take a leak, flip the burgers or some other task. The only time we as fans even take interest is if we KNOW a 2 point attempt is coming, or have reasonable expectation of a 2 point attempt due to the team being behind alot with little time on the clock. The PAT does need to be changed or to simply go away. Make it 7 points on a TD with the team having the option to go for 2 thus getting 8 or 6 on the TD. But the potential of the surprise 2 point attempt going away holds very little water.

I still prefer the idea of keeping it at the 2, but making whoever scored the TD kick the XP.

Anyhow, as it is, teams should use a backup QB as the holder and have a couple of players who can catch as well as block on the kicking team (presumably backup HBs and TEs).

Speaking of holders, didn't the Rams have a WR hold for them for a while?

it is dumb either leave it alone or make it an automatic 7 with option of risking a point for 2.

Turning an extra point into a fg is stupid.
