The rebuild should have been started after the 2013 season and would have been completed by the time the new stadium was here.
They tried to extend rebuild with Darvish and Cole which made sense to me but once Yu had the TJ it was really toast. They could have started then but then got swept in Toronto. They should have definitely blown the whole thing up in 2017 but they wanted a stadium. I think business and politics come more into play than you realize.

But yes partial rebuilds make little sense given the current rules.

But I hate those rules anyways with all the revenue sharing etc that make owners profitable without putting a competitive team on the field saving money until the supposed window occurs

Folynewicz, Anderson, Bush Cotton DFA(in my book)
Trade: Leclerc, Dahl, Lowe and Trevino

In looking back at my Facebook posts, I noticed that I wrote this on this date back in 2014.

"As disappointing as the Rangers have been on the field they have been even more disappointing in the front office. This makes two disappointing trade deadlines in a row. Couple that with two disappointing offseasons in a row and you see a GM who is simply not getting the job done any longer."

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

They were in rebuild mode when the stadium got here anyway.

Also, there was no business or politics in the way in 2013.

They are inept and will never be able to bring us a WS. No matter how many excuses folks make for them, what they have done cries out louder than any excuse.

When ownership and management are gone, I will start being concerned with offseasons. Until then, it is pointless.

as neither of those are going to happen in the next 24 months without a whole lot of luck i won't waste my time worrying about them

Zavala has not signed yet. The team would probably be better off, if it was certain that they would draft better next year. They would get a pick next year in the 3rd slot of the 2nd round. As it stands now they would get two picks in a row early in the second round.

Yep. That is why I am going to try not wasting my time worrying about the offseason. Old habits are hard to break though.

I can still hope we even by accident make the logical moves in off season

1Yes and
2 of course not- Rangers had to look good although not WS 100% committed to get Arlington to pay for stadium during 2018 thus the rebuild had to wait. Just my opinion

While we are airing grievances, I think they have up on Tyler Phillips too soon.

The organization that kept Michael Kirkman around for 10 seasons gives up on Crouse after less than 4 years and Phillips after less than 6 years.

they also gave odor / Teagarden way too many chances and didn’t give hanser Alberto enough.

Curtis Terry needs to take advantage of his call up. Six games and no hits. Probably a little nervous.
