While I am a fan of both movies I do believe I like Kelly's Heroes a bit more.

The best war movie is Full Metal Jacket. But I too like Kelley's Heroes and Lee Marvin was great in the Dirty Dozen.

Full Metal Jacket was an awesome movie but better than Platoon? I don't know... Off the top of my head I also liked Hamburger Hill, Bridge on the River Kwai and Stalag 17.

I watched Where Eagles Dare with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. Another classic.

I love the Dirty Dozen but Kelly's Heroes would be my pick of the two.

"Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?"

Big Joe: "What are you doing?"

Odd Ball: "I'm drinking wine, eating some cheese, catching some rays, you know."

I haven't seen Kelly's Heroes in years. I recall that I liked it a lot. Both highly entertaining flicks. I'd have to watch KH again to pick one.

Kelly's Heroes over Dirty Dozen.

Apocalypse Now is the best war movie for me.

I just saw it a few months ago for the first time. While it kept me interested for the ENTIRE length of the movie, I still don't get all the fuss. I should probably watch it again and see what I missed the first time. I'm not putting it down because I did find it interesting, I'm just not sure about all the accolades.

Yeah it was great but it was really weird. A lot of it just didn't make any damn sense, but it was very entertaining.
