I loved watching Pete play baseball, but I am pretty passionately against what he did as a manager (and possibly a player. His word that he didn't bet as a player simply can't be trusted). I actually get angry over the subject and that is rare as I consider myself fairly easy-going..

Fading but have not fallen - as of yet that is. Still in first place. Iffen you would have told me that they would be in this position in April, I would have jumped at it. Just need to weather this storm a bit and get back to playing fundamentally sound baseball.

Stayed at Le Meridien on Post Office Square with the wifey for Valentine's Day ages ago...she was carrying my now teenaged daughter then. Ran into an absolutely insane cabbie who wanted a bigger tip from driving the wrong way on a one way street and told us Ted Williams had been in his cab and agreed that Jimmy Piersall was just as valuable a ballplayer as him.
