Thomas would be quite good for Kansas City. They're 3-0, Dallas could be 1-2 after today, I know Thomas is from Texas and the Cowboys are the Cowboys but for my money the Chiefs are the better team right now.
I kinda feel like the Chiefs would purely be renting to try to win the SB if they got Earl. Jones and Hill are going to be veering towards 40M combined and Kendall Fuller ain't far behind.Thomas would be quite good for Kansas City. well atleast he didnt take it easy on the football field.

Don’t trade him to Dallas. The Dallas D is looking special... really special. Keep Thomas out of Dallas PLEASE!
Pretty sure it just the risk/calculus odds of a Steelers tiebreaker mattering were not that great. This week is an NFC opponent at home. My guess is he has a chance of coming back for MNF next week, and if he ain't back for the Jags game the following week then that's when the red flags should really start popping. Just reading tea-leaves, it's less so he can't play, they just don't want to risk it when they don't have to and can nip (I am guessing tendinosis or something similar) this in the bud in the early going. More about the postseason than it is about now. Earl and Berry probably have pretty different roles at this point.
They're in a lot better spot to rent than the Cowboys. I kinda feel they can just sit on their asses offering at most a 3rd or 2nd. Cowboys can just wait until FA as they filter out of playoff contention if they don't pull the trigger. With the start that KC is having...I can see them making a deal here.
if seattle would take a really crappy draft pick then the chiefs should probably pursue it but he's probably just a 4 month rental player for them because they're already paying Eric Berry 800 million dollars a year or something ridiculous … they can't afford to sign Thomas long term
Methinks they'd rather throw money at younger players like Chris Jones and Tyreek Hill before Earl who is 29, and who would have his next contract begin on the wrong side of 30; even for a safety you lose out there when big money is already at that position. Even Watkins at the end of his deal would be 28.Well, when you have a QB on the rookie contract you can consider such things, but paying both safeties FA type contracts long term does not sound reasonable...my guess is they would rent Thomas.
offering at most a 3rd or 2ND .

The CB's aren't the guys getting beat, generally in coverage. It's the LB's and safeties thus far. A 2nd is rich for my blood, I'd want to see more from the offense before I am willing to make that plunge for a 2nd.you think your team should give a 2nd round pick to rent Thomas for 3 or 4 months? Do you feel like Thomas is the difference between the Chiefs getting to the SB and not? Could 1 safety fix a defense that much?
One could win a SB with this offense, provided it doesn't completely implode, even if there is even semi-respectable defense. Veach is a weird dude thus far as GM so maybe he's crazy enough to actually give him money. They are not gonna need to be good to blow teams out. They just can't let teams get back up from 21-0 and 35-7 like the past two weeks.Yeah...long term, they have to take care of Jones and Hill.
I was thinking a one year rental on Thomas, but that might not be all that attractive to him either. Why would he jump at the chance to play for the same $8 mil in KC?
If the Chiefs traded a 3rd round pick and got him, if he leaves as a FA, would KC then get a comp pick? Granted it would be a year later...but still? As much as I despise the idea of giving up premium picks, the more I think about it; Veach is exactly the kind of cat who would do that, thinking the team can win a SB right now.
