I'm thinking Verrett and Roby, although short...are possibilities@34. Both 4.3 guys with high upside.
Not what I'm hoping for but would be nice additions.

If we don't go CB in the 2nd or 3rd, I'm not sure the team finds someone they trust enough to overtake the depth we have there.

well i am not a fan of verrett because he is too small . i do like roby all the way around but i am prejudiced

i want tall bump and run cbs so i am not very fair to smaller ones so asking for a rational debate about small guys with me is useless

but if we select one i will root for them to make me eat crow

Yeah I agree verrett is 5'9" ...They have compared him to Winfield but thats rather lofty to say.
I will say Roby has looked good in man to man, and in run support...his zone could be a little better(which should be easy to correct)....Although Stanley Baptise is buzzing...I think "if" we took Roby...we got a steal. Porter will not play more than 10 games....Crawford is coming back from a major injury. Hall may see more slot time...You've got a 1st rounder for cheap

i can live with 5-11 to 6 foot but 5-9 pushes it for me ,

Darrell Green was 5'8" and Pat Fischer was 5'9". I think it is more about whether you can play than size. Big corners are en vogue because of Seattle. Sherman's great ability is to get his hands on receivers and not get penalties. The rest of the Seattle defense primarily plays zone. Carroll is exceptional at teaching the zone because most don't play it well. Just my opinion but the Redskins have not been very good in zone under Haslett.

From what I have heard Jason Verrett plays much bigger than his size. A very well rounded corner with good speed, ball skills, and can play the run.

Toby on the other hand may have a higher ceiling, and he is ranked high purely on his speed and measurables, not so much his film.

I would rather have the guy who has proved on film that he can play the position at a high level, regardless of stature.

I don't care how good Verrett is. If you put him beside Megatron, Verrett loses every time.

How often do the Redskins play Detroit? I guess the 2nd question is what corner shuts down Megatron? I am not advocating for one corner over another just asking questions.

Well what dumbass DC would put someone with his size consistently on a WR like Megatron Gk?? Who said he would be the #1 CB on the given team?? He is probably more if a #2 or slot/nickel guy. For every 5'9 or 5'10 stud there are 20 6 foot something's that don't amount to shit.

As someone said earlier... Can he play??

all i said is i prefer tall corners and have always did since we had joe bird lavender it isnt a seatle thing although i believe they have it right

i like tall dbs i like tall rangy safeties and i like tall press coverage cbs

that is my preference . there are exceptions and of course if a guy can play he can play regardless of height

I am pointing toward the trend of huge WRs...add Dez Bryant to that Megatron statement. It wasn't going after Verrett...it's stating it won't just be SEA going with big corners.

Its also a different era, most of the WRs Darrell Green went up against weren't above 6'3, didn't weigh more than 210 and weren't running as fast as him. Verrett has elite speed and jumping ability but at 5'9"...a guy 6'0 with same vertical simply has the advantage on certain routes. I do believe he will be on board, because Roby is taller and also runs a 4.39.
Not saying we will run up to the podium for the so called 2nd coming of Winfield...but he will probably be there.

I kind of thought although you mentioned Megatron you might be referencing all tall receivers but when thinking about it I thought well hell, DHall has shut down Dez a couple of times. Lavender is up there on my all time top Redskin CBs, so is Mike Bass.

I would take'verrett. For what its worth but not at 34 I just don't see good wr in the big 12. He played against nobodys except against ksu wr lockett witch verrett got destroyed
