There's no doubt he belongs in the NBA. The injury thing. Hopefully like you said it was more the Lakers being a bit cautious. Don't like seeing young players get hit by the injury bug so early.

Once fully healed he should spend the summer in the gym working on his shot. But you never know what dumbass scheme Papa Ball has planned.

On his injuries, I think it's a bit of a combo platter. The injuries were real, but I also think that the Lakers were overly cautious and if making the playoffs had been on the line, he'd have played.

As for Papa Ball, it seems like Lonzo isn't really listening to him much anymore. At the least, Papa Ball has been pretty quiet.

I agree had the Lakers made the playoffs he would have played. One thing that would concern me if I was a Lakers fan is how everyone not named LeBron was mentioned in the AD trade talks. Stuff like that has to be a lockeroom divider. But like I said a week or so ago I expect alotta changes to the Lakers line up for next season.

And as far as free agnecy goes this will be one of the more exciting summers. I think alotta moves will be made league wide.

You have no idea what his career #'s are after 2 full seasons do you? His FG% is lousy (.380) for a guard. His FT% is pathetic (.437). He can't get through a season w/o injury. But yeah if I ignore all those facts you have a point. You probably should loosen those custom Lakers Homer Goggles.

Then there's the baggage that he brings with him (Lavar Ball)

Lakers would be stupid to not do this trade which is why it won't happen.

True. But like trojanfan12 said in another comment Lonzo doesn't seem to be listening to his loudmouth self-promoting dad. That will only be a benefit for him in the long run.

They would have traded Lonzo for the #7 pick. So, I'm not sure what the issue would be.

Keeping Ingram might hurt the cap space for one of the guys you mentioned, but then they'd still have cap space to go after a solid shooter or 2.

Assuming Ingram continues to improve (and can stay healthy) if you add a couple of shooters to say Lebron, AD or Beal and Ingram...you're in pretty good shape, imo. Might have to switch out a shooter for a solid big if it's Beal though.
BOOM.

Yeah....just focus on his shooting numbers.....

Passing, rebounding, and defense don't matter. At all.

What are you expecting the Wiz to take for Beal? 2 picks and Kuzma? Lakers would be eating $25M in cap in such a deal, if the Wiz would even go for it.

Not a chance.

Trading Beal to the Lakers all but guarantees those picks are non-lottery.

You going to have to do a lot better then that.

Ok sorry.

Misread the post.

2 top 7 picks plus Kuzma is a solid offer.

If he played for any other team you'd be able to see his on the court issues. And I haven't badmouthed him. All I did was mention his actual #'s.

You don't think a PG w/ a career .437 FT % isn't a major issue late in close games? Right now he's a liability on the court in games like that.

It isn't when he's attempting 1.2 FT per game, as Lonzo has through 2 seasons. "Ooooh, he might cost them a point over the course of the game from the line, what do we do?" On the flip side, he contributes greatly to team defense and rebounding, while setting up the offense.

1.2 FTA's a game Just over 100 FT's in his 99 games.....

You point out his career shooting numbers but refuse to acknowledge his improving defense, 6.4apg, and 5.3rpg.

And hes still just 22.

His improved assists & rebounding? I don't think so. Here are his stats in those categories.

2017-18: 7.2 asts, 6.9 rebs
2018-19: 5.4 asts, 5.3 rebs

I'll take your word on his improved D since you watched the Lakers play a lot more than I did this year. But even his steals went down. Rookie year- 1.7 / this year- 1.5. And I realize the injury bug got him & his minutes were down (34.2 last year / 30.3 this year). But for a PG I just can't ignore his terrible FT #'s. A question. When is it ever good for a teams starting PG to only hit .437% of his FT's his 1st two years in the league?

I can see you don't think his FT #'s are an issue. And that's fine. I just disagree.

I said his improved defense.

His apg took a hit because James was there.

LOL.....Picking him apart to the point to talking about his declining spg?

0.2, that's a huge decline!!!!

His numbers declined because James came and his mpg declined by 4 a game......there's your answer for his numbers dropping.....plus James being there.

In comment # 53 you also mentioned his assist & rebounding #'s. And that's why I mentioned his #'s in those categories.
