Both locales provided militias or irregulars who fought with the Confederacy during the Civil War. That was the stated rationale when these schools were invited to join the SEC. Logic & geography don't stand a chance against that argument.And the SEC has teams that are neither from the South(Mizzou) or the East(aTm). Funny how that works.
