We lost almost our entire O line to last years draft(both Guards, both tackles with only a frosh Center returning), plus QB1(Kyler), RB1(Anderson), WR1(Hollywood), and a record setting kicker/punter. Our young D only lost 3 from last year(Bolton, Nelson, Bledsoe), but will lose our Captain and best D man K9 next year.

The loss of the O line was evident in all the sacks we gave up this year and how Hurts was forced out of pocket so often. Also why we didn't use our backs as much this year as our line wasn't as good as usual opening it up. Admittedly, we lost nothing in the WR position as CeeDee, Rambo, etal covered the loss of Brown.

Our D finally was coached by a competent DC, thus the improvement. Will be interesting to see the hopefully continued improvement as we mature, get better recruits on D and gain confidence.

Wrong. They aren't ranked in the Top Ten in power index nor have they proven to be dominant at all in their season, at least five games could've been disasters.

If this was an opinion, I would use feelings or bias view points, but I'm not. Using actual evidence from games, the Baylor Bears aren't a Top 10 team.

The Big 12 got some really tough bowl match ups. Playing a higher ranked seed in most them and an underdog in almost all of them.

I know what Rhule has done with them, went from 1-11 to 11-1.
Doesn't change the fact that they're objectively not a Top 10 team
The CFP committee "objectively" disagrees with you.

Anyone had a good laugh at Utah yet? From playing for the Pac 12 championship to Jexas in a bowl game.

The CFP isn't objective sadly. It's just several people with their own opinions since they don't actually use objective measures, which is the reason the rankings are so disproportionately when compared to power rankings. It shows when you can get crushed by multiple scoring possessions but only drop down one spot (Georgia & Virginia)

That thing has Auburn 6th.

Blow it out your ass.
Ouch with that vulgar tone, someone's not happy :pound:
Auburn is p̶r̶o̶b̶a̶b̶l̶y̶ definitely the best 3 loss team in the country. Kind of shocking how you actually view Baylor>Auburn, don't really see how that's possible when looking at their seasons. Hell, Auburn could beat Oklahoma, but that would be an admittedly good game.
Not sure why you're so against an actual objective measure of teams and rather want to go by a "rankings" based on a straw poll practically.

Auburn has tried twice in their entire existence to beat Oklahoma, and failed miserably both times........kinda like Penn State.

Auburn would have been around 3rd or fourth place in the Big XII.

Auburn has a solid defense.

Nothing about their offense scares anyone. Bo Nix ain’t gonna beat anyone with his arm.

Next year people will see how sad it was that we had such a talented group of receivers effectively neutered. The o line is part of it but not all. Fact is we have a QB that is horrible if his first read is covered. Can’t help but like the guy but anyone that has watched knows this is the truth. Lack of throwing ability to start with combined with not being able to go through reads is not good and why hurts won’t be playing on Sunday’s.

OU loses talent

But, they have a better system of developing sophmores/juniors/transfers than every other Big 12 team
The continuity of promoting Riley from within also prevented any backlogs or gaps.

Texas relies on the 5th year seniors OR complete newbies, which is idiotic.
It gets a lot worse when the coaching carousel makes it even more chaotic.

3 complete coaching changes in 6 years created some weird roster peaks and valleys.

Even worse, the needless Charlie Strong first season morality purges gave last year's senior class more playing time than they would have earned over a normal cycle.

It might take another full recruitment cycle to even things out, but if they fire Herman....... it happens again.

Mmmm ok. It doesn't really counter my claim that the Big 12 is worse than the SEC and Big Ten. Not sure about that diss on Penn State either, since those games came before any of the current players on the teams were even conceived, whatever makes you feel happy I guess.

"Auburn would have been around 3rd or fourth place in the Big XII."

So you're saying that Iowa/Kansas/Oklahoma State & Texas are potentially better than Auburn, Alabama, and to an extent Georgia, Florida, even LSU? Big Yikes there dude, not going to lie.

"Nothing about their offense scares anyone. Bo Nix ain’t gonna beat anyone with his arm."

Well Auburn is 9-3 and all three of their losses coming from Top 10 teams, so I'd be ok with a Freshman QB.

I have little doubt that Oklahoma would beat Auburn the first time around if the Tigers were in the Big 12. But there's a good chance that Auburn would win the rematch because they would dog Baylor. They would probably find a way to lose to Iowa St. along the way, but they would still end up in the conference championship game because of their head-to-head win over Baylor & the fact that everyone else besides Oklahoma would have three or more conference losses.
