Leave the conference honking to the SEC.

Fans of those schools have been riding the coattails of others for years........and rightfully so.

The SEC is the best conference in football, year in and year out.

They have the biggest group by conference of Top 20 programs.

The first half of my life, Oklahoma was in the Big 8. Didn’t give a shit about the rest of the conference. Just wanted to beat Texas and Nebraska every year, and go to the Orange Bowl.

1960’s Alabama (1964/1965)

1970’s Alabama (1973,78,79)

1980’s Georgia (1980)

Three decades of Alabama and one hit wonder Georgia. That’s what I saw growing up.

Since the 90’s, the media and the SEC have really come into their own. Winning the vast majority of the NC’s.

I don’t think their dominance will ever be surpassed.

In a 10 team league when 70% of that league is in the top 40, that'll happen. Plus the bottom of the league, which only consists of 3 teams isn't as awful as some of the bottom of the B1G and SEC.

Agree Not the best at the top by any means but the middle and bottom are better than most of the others.

And if it hadn't been for some lousy officiating, one of those bottom three would be 2-1 against the four Big 12 teams ranked in the top 25.

I agree that the bottom of the Big 12 is stronger than the bottom of the other Power-5 conferences, and the middle is deeper, but not necessarily stronger, than everyone but the Pac-12. But the top end is a good bit weaker than the Big 10 & SEC.
