If Penn State is really #8, then it has been overly hyped for many, many years.

Well, there is a demarcation between the larger and smaller B1G Stadiums. I have Penn State listed as my least favorite of the larger (70,000 + stadiums). If Penn State is really #8, then it has been overly hyped for many, many years.
I'm not a fan of watching games in the large stadiums. That said, the only ones I've been to a game in person are UT, A&M, Az State (old one) LSU, OU, the old Cotton Bowl and Jerry's World. In person, I'd much rather watch a game at little old TCU or SMU than any of those.Well, there is a demarcation between the larger and smaller B1G Stadiums. Sun Bowl is a good stadium to watch a game in person...if the teams are any good.I agree!
In the B1G, Iowa and Mich. State probably have the best two that are B1G enough but not too B1G. Indiana and Purdue are the nicest of the smaller stadiums. Minnesota looks like it would a great place, but I have not been there yet. That being said, Ohio St. and Wisconsin are both AWESOME! Not a fan of the bigger stadiums in general, but those are BOTH GREAT.
Of the ones you mentioned, I have been to Ariz. State for the Fiesta Bowl (had a terrible end zone seat but loved the stadium), LSU (when it was 78,000) and loved it, OU (when they had the flat-board end-zone (nice enough) and the old Cotton Bowl (before the upper deck was completely ovalled). Love that old stadium on NYD!
FWIW, I like the Sun Bowl as much or better than all of those stadiums.
I went to the 1996 Sun Bowl (on a glorious El Paso day!) and saw Stanford (Ty Willingham) whip Michigan State (Nick Saban) 38-0! Talk about a reverse of fortunes for two HCs going forward!Sun Bowl is a good stadium to watch a game in person...if the teams are any good.
I was there that day. I saw all of 'em from 1978 to 2005. I don't remember details about many of them...but a few stood out. (And it seemed like we had Stanford, Washington and Alabama a lot during that time frame. I'd have to look it up but I remember seeing them a lot.)I went to the 1996 Sun Bowl (on a glorious El Paso day!) and saw Stanford (Ty Willingham) whip Michigan State (Nick Saban) 38-0! Alabama (3-0) is a 3 time Sun Bowl Champion!I was there that day. I saw all of 'em from 1978 to 2005. I don't remember details about many of them...but a few stood out. One was when they had to scramble for a 2nd team to play USC. Five loss TCU from the WAC was chosen and USC was pissed about the opponent. TCU won.
Another one was a year or two later. Wisconsin came to town. A friend of mine had some Badger relatives down for that one and talked me into going to one of their tailgates early that morning. It was one of those clear, cold desert days. I mean in the 20s until 10:00 am. Wisconsin had this big ass BBQ pit that they was pulled down to EP with a semi. Those fools were out in shorts with no shirts cooking brats and drinking beer at daybreak. Biggest party fans that every visited the Sun Bowl from my experience. They know how to eat and drink beer.
Damn, three times in five years. I knew they were there a lot for a while.Alabama (3-0) is a 3 time Sun Bowl Champion!
1983 Beat S.M.U. 28-7
1986 Beat Washington 28-6
1988 Beat Army 29-28
This actually isn't a bad list.
Harbaugh still way too high. The dude has literally accomplished nothing at one of the most resource-rich schools in the nation for 4 years. Not top 3, maybe not top 5 in the B1G right now. Hell, Brohm was not only able to beat OSU, but beat the shit out of them, last year. Even Ferentz beat the hell out of us two years ago. This actually isn't a bad list.

Alright, here's a better list.
