The original Red Dawn...
''where eagles dare'',........and that kirk douglas flick where he blows up the water-plant that produced ''heavy-water'' for future/atomic bombs?..for Germany [guns of telemar?].
same here,indrid,....i'll put it on [American-Heroes-Ch.] when I'm on the treadmill too,.....it's a shame there's not much to see about the Korean-War.....*less cameramen?*.
Here are a few more that I appreciate (I linked the titles to IMDB):
1.) Where Eagles Dare(BOOM, this movie is the shit! Haven't seen it mentioned yet, either. Clint and Rich Burton)
2.) The Enemy Below
3.) Run Silent Run Deep (Burt Lancaster is awesome in this movie)
4.) Sahara (Maybe Humphrey Bogart's best World War 2 performance, rather obscure too)
5.) Casablanca (tells a good story, even if it's overly dramatic)
6.) Morituri (Marlon Brando impersonates an SS officer on a cargo ship)
7.) Stalingrado (It's in German, so.. subtitles)
BoB is tremendous.
If you haven't read Ambrose, Id highly recommend.
Sergeant York #1
Saving Private Ryan #2
Full Metal Jacket #3
"The Best Years of Our Lives" is the BEST Post-WW2 movie.
Full Metal Jacket is absolutely great in the first half of the movie in training camp. I felt it dropped off in quality in the Vietnam part.
I thought I was the only one that liked Midway. I never can turn it off when I see it on tv.
The second half was still pretty good imo but the first half was just unbelievable. Every Marine I've met seems to LOVE that movie.
the entire 2nd half could be shit on a stick (which it wasn't) but it would be made up for by the Boots Are Made For Walking bit.
We make ficky fick, Me sooooo hooooney...... Etc.
Lol me love you long time.
