i disagree. Blondies Rapture has a different sound and never popped on the street. Rapture is just a sorry disco/pop tune with a rap verse in it, and a trivia question answer. Both rapture and Genius of Love were recorded in 1980 and Genius of love still echoes thru hip hop whereas Rapture was largely ignored by the new genre musically. If anything it opened a door and exposed a different audience to a rap verse, but I wouldnt put it in hip hop or even influential to hip hop and certainly not a foundational stone in hiphop.So is post #19 too fwiw.
