The last 7 years have been brutal, but this feels pretty fucking low.

Jordan Howard is pretty much the only thing to even be remotely excited about.

After they signed Mike Glennon, there were people on the score saying, the bears can be stashing quarterbacks as trade bait when teams need their replaced.

I really hope that is the case.

hand the ball off 3 downs and punt, hope the defense can make a play. this new team will have to win a few games to get me watching this year.

Are you people actually under the impression that we brought in Sanchez to do anything more than compete for a backup job?

Yeah, we only have one of the best young O-lines in the league and a RB who averaged 5 YPC last year... but all of those stats are just silly.

We have a very good young O-line and a very good young RB.

We have a very good young defense.

We will be in most every game.

I don't know, were you under the impression that the bears brought in Barkley to be a practice squad player and compete for a back up job last year?

I think Sanchez is a serviceable backup for a few games if needed. It's just the stigma of it. I mean the dude, was a pretty-boy USC QB who is known primarily for quite possibly the most ridiculous play in the last 20 years. The Butt Fumble. He will NEVER surpass that. It will ALWAYS be what he is known for.

I don't mind the signing. We are not going to the Super Bowl next year. Hopefully we can find a QB here soon.

I find the concept of watching kyle orton Chicago style football, the 11 for 17 for 105 yards passing as something i'm not interested in watching but, for those of you that long for that style football congratulations.

He threw 2 picks in 18 pass attempts last year with Dallas while being sacked 3 times with a really really good offensive line. Backup QB's need to know to get rid of the football. His whole career he has held the ball too long.

Orton was 9-6, threw for almost 3000 yards, 18 td to 12 picks while Forte ran for 1250 and caught 500.

Isnt it amazing that Cutler blew up the QB records, but Johnny Morris is still the career leader in receiving?

I'm new on this forum but am getting a feel for it and many of you guys are stat nuts. I don't have any football cards and follow my gut. I remember a late game the bears with kyle came back and beat the broncos with cutler and my take was the bears stole that game and #6 was the real deal. Too bad for #6 and everybody involved denver broke up the band because that was one of the most dynamic offenses I remember. Back then I gave quarterbacks all the credit and believed we were saved when we traded for him, learned a lot about football since then.

Well this is a forum where most of the anal retentive posters that were here always wanted stats or facts to back up your point, so its kind of a habit. So its a quick search on pro football reference or somewhere to show that Orton was not all that bad. But you bring up the point that yeah, Denver broke up that band for some reason. We also realize that denver wente to 7 playoff after trading #6, won three of them before the last Manning run, so its hard to say they made a bad decision. Thats a total of 10 playoff games since dumping him.

You are also playing poke the bear for fans who have thought that Cutler was given damn near a decade and won us one playoff game and the team can finally move on. Joey is saving his posts to tell us that cutler would have completed that pass, or not thrown that pick, or come back in the fourth quarter and arent you happy we signed this guy for the money Jay would have been paid,

Yes, because that's what they did.

It took two season ending injuries to force Barkley into action.

What are you talking about?
