DC FanDome teaser!

Looks like the usual dark, brooding DC super-hero film. It does look a bit more promising than some of their recent releases. We'll just have to wait & see if there's actually a workable plot & sensible story line that's not padded with unneccessarily drawn-out sequences that make watching the movie overly tedious.

Their last 2 releases were Aquaman and Shazam! Your statement doesn't really hold up anymore.

Sorry. The dark matter has just been ingrained in my head when it comes to DC stuff. Aquaman was a well-balanced film (and so was Wonder Woman), and Shazam seemed to be done mostly for the humor (but I still haven't seen that one - I'll have to look for it in the discount bins).

Contrary to your own point, did you want a dark, serious film about a 12 year old getting the powers of Superman?

Of course not. I find them a bit tedious. I much prefer the Marvel/Disney method.

By the way, if anyone is interested in a dark, serious film about a child getting the powers of Superman, see Brightburn. ;)

Agreed.
Had potential. Elizabeth Banks.

Just didn't deliver for me, as well.
I haven’t seen Brightborn yet, but I have learned to put anything linked to Banks in “warning” column recently. Her “comedy” is tooover-the-top to really be funny and anything that she has any control over is too dripping in wokeness to be enjoyable in the slightest.

And I REALLY liked her in 40 Year Old Virgin. I really thought she was someone to lookout for. While I was right (she is a Hollywood heavyweight now), I just don’t like what she puts out.

I didn't think Brightburn was that bad I mean the budget was super low only like a few million bucks I hope they do end up doing a follow up with young wonder woman and aquaman.

Shazaam couldn't be dark the whole point of the character is that its a 12 year old becoming a superhero. In the cartoons he is supposed to have the adult look but act like a child. Really the only DC movie that should be really dark is Batman.

The more and more you think about it, this Batman should be badass. Pattinson was rejected by Harry Potter and Twatlight fans and they made billions. No one wants him as Batman but maybe he gives the DCEU their rightful place on top of the comic movies.

A lot of people didn’t want Ledger as Joker and that turned out really well. I’ll reserve any kind of judgment on Pattinson until I see the film. Especially since I’ve never seen him in anything else anyway.
Remember the hubbub about Keaton?

Which is why I have reserved judgement. While Bale had the best movies, Keaton was by far the best Batman. I can’t see Pattinson as Batman but he can’t be any worse than Clooney or Kilmer.
