I didnt really see the need to be so critical of who played a character in which 70% of the movie he will be wearing a mask and having his voice altered. I get superman, aquaman and wonder woman but batman I would let it slide

To be fair it doesn't really matters who plays Batman because that's the boring role. The hero's role in comic book movies is predictable and bland.

It's all about who is the villain and how well they can portray it. Without the sense of impending doom for the hero and the city the movie doesn't work.

To be fair, though, he would rock just about any role where the character even 0.01% off-his-rocker. He plays “off” probably better than anyone today.

With the possible exception of the guy picked to play the crime boss, most of the actors chosen for this film give the impression that it is going to be an accidental spoof of the Bat-Man mythos, much like the first Star Wars prequel was to that franchise.

And, while the camera test was cool (mostly because of the music & the lighting), Pattinson seems more like a Blue Beetle-esque character than a rugged Batman type.
