I just don't think Andy Reid wants to do that anymore with his running backs. Unfortunately that's becoming a common theme with coaches these days. The problem is that Pacheco is never going to be the pass catching back so his upside will always be limited by that since they throw it so damn much. I think Irish shopped Pacheco to everybody. I had an offer that was Pacheco and Cooks for Ceedee Lamb and I know that he sent Roll Tide an offer that was Pacheco and Cooks for Tyreek Hill straight up.

Pacheco/Cooks was the original offer to me for Patterson...much more palatable than moving Lamb or Tyreek for that package, but I wanted more youth vs having Cooks while I'm in rebuild mode.

Interesting - I made an offer on him earlier in the yr and got the standard "He's a Stud" routine. ..... guess that's why I got no offer this time around.

Dudes on the radio yesterday morning were talking about noticing what they referred to as a 'seismic shift' in the offenses of today's NFL, 3 of the four in the discussion were former players not just idiot radio jackwangs. Defenses have adjusted to today's pass happy crap, the most successful offenses run the ball efficiently. Those who can't run or refuse to run, are struggling, Rams, Buccs, Packers..etc..mind you, ya gotta be able to do both, you can't be the Malik Willis Titans, but, best teams in the league, with rare exception, have a legit rushing attack, or at minimum the real threat of one. Chiefs are the only top ten scoring offense who doesn't have a legit threat in the backfield

Andy may not want to, but I imagine he'd hate being bounced from the playoffs more

I don't know, you're talking about a guy that has always wanted to throw it more than run it, even when that was completely against the norm in his Philly days. I think the biggest difference is he used to throw to his running backs a lot. I mean that was part of the Andy Reid legacy. It's why Bryan Westbrook was such a fantasy monster and why Kareem Hunt and even Damien Williams and Darrel Williams (when CEH has been hurt the last few years) have been so productive. He's never been a 3rd down running back type of guy until now when they signed Jerick McKinnon. I honestly don't understand why he hasn't just let McKinnon be his primary back as good as he looked in the playoffs last year. So obviously he doesn't see any of these guys as three down back or he would be playing them that way. He's never going to have an offense that runs the ball a lot.. In his 24 years of being a head coach, his team has finished in the top 10 in rushing attempts once and that was the 2002 Eagles who were 5th and that includes from 2009-2012 in Philly when Michael Vick was his quarterback. Since Mahomes took over as the starter they have finished 23, 23, 27, 23, 20, and 27th (currently) in rush attempts per season and 7, 3, 5, 1, 4, 1 (currently) in pass attempts. Here are his run/pass ratios during those seasons:

2017 - 58/42
2018 - 60/40
2019 - 61/39
2020 - 61/39
2021 - 61/39
2022 - 64/36

I don't really see him changing his philosophy.

Well, defenses catch up. That's why the forward pass became a thing, it's why no one does the greatest show on turf style stuff, and at some point, maybe soon, or even now, they've finally figured out the right moves. Any coach unwilling to beat a defense with what they dare you to do and willing will give if you just put forth the effort, just ain't a great coach.

Well guys, if you don't see Bandit, Clemson or myself on the boards for awhile it's due to a windy, rainy Nicole - wish us luck.
First recorded hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. this late in the yr so we got that going for us. .... :rolleyes2:
Update - still windy and rainy here but so far we've faired pretty well, lost some fencing and smaller limbs. A large pine tree did come down behind us on our neighbors pergola. Bandit lost power around 3:30am so it'll be a busy day for him. We still have another 5-6hrs of this shit before it's out of our hair and restoration crews can get out and start repairs. Long sleepless night (why the hell do these things always come in the wee hrs of the morning? I have no friggin clue).

Well, let's see, thus far this week I'll be missing my #1QB, my #1WR will be without his QB, and my #2WR will be without his. ... not the best of beginnings. Still time for it to change but sure looking iffy all round.

between this post and the PM earlier this week I thought I'd have an offer or some negotiations going - if you like any of my vets producing in the now, I'm looking for youth and/or picks

OK- I recountered
two options
Two immovable forces nudged enough to find a middle ;)

Deal

I send lefty's #2, and my #4 to Fuzzy

I get Devin White and M. Parsons.

Eliminating the need to pay attention to multiple IDPS across leagues as now its pretty much all the same

Dome nearly everything I can to make the run this year, just need Chase back, and make smart calls ...I hope

To be clear Fuzzy get's my original number 4 not Treff's #4 in this trade.

Seems good both ways - - Treff gearing for the playoff, Fuzzy gearing for rebuild ammo.
